How it started
Reeves Butchers was formed in 1988 as a first-generation retail shop, by the current managing director Paul Reeves.
Paul had gained a wealth of experience working for other butchers in the area from a young age but made the brave decision to open his first shop at the age of 22. Offering unmatchable service, quality, and value for money, the small shop based in Reading grew in popularity, but Paul had bigger ambitions!
Evolving business
With large supermarkets up and coming on the high street, peoples shopping habits had started to change and it was becoming harder to compete in the retail market. At this point, Paul evolved the business to start serving local eateries and hospitality sites, offering ready cut and portioned meat delivered for a competitive price. This side of the business continued to grow and prosper, and Reeves Butchers started to place its foot firmly in the catering market, quickly outgrowing the small local shop.
New factory location
A new factory location was developed in Maidenhead, perfect for large volume orders and close to good transport links, however with the next big step for the business came the need for accreditations and nominated supplier status.
In 2010, Paul re-located the company to Bracknell, where a custom fitted, modern factory was developed, purpose built and perfect for catering to the public sectors as well as the hospitality industry.
Large production scale
Reeves Butchers remains at the Bracknell site to this day but has since extended into the adjoining units. Today, the business operates on a large production scale and continues to grow and expand, with modern offices and up to date technology, the space suits the needs of the company as well as our customers.
Family run business
The company remains firmly family run to this day and the friendly, professional ethos runs through the entire company.
Paul is still very much involved in the running of the company alongside his wife Sharon. Their daughter Hannah also joined the company in 2017. Paul’s two nephews Daniel and Jordan oversee the day to day running of the factory production and work closely with Paul.
